With an emphasis on musicality, dancers will experience progressive combinations that build in difficulty and intensity to challenge their skills, memory, speed, and lightness of foot. |
Ballet: Adult Beginner

This class is designed to work basic techniques at a moderate pace, focusing on alignment, placement, and artistry. The class will consist of barre, center, and across-the-floor exercises. Students are encouraged to modify movements if needed and to ask the instructor about proper modifications. Emphasis on the standing leg, stacking the skeleton, and proper neural recruitment will guide students through exercises on two feet, one leg, relevé, jumps, and turns. All levels are welcome to join. This will not be a pointe-focused class. If students wish to participate en pointe, we only encourage highly experienced students (3+ years of focused training and strength in center exercises). Note: absolute beginners are always welcome, but this is not a foundations class. Some prior experience is necessary for grasping concepts, terminology, and safe execution of movements. |
